DoJ places a chill on criticism of Islam

And one fallacy is that there is such a thing as a radical Muslim. There are only Muslims, following their religion to one degree or another. Islam commands its followers to kill the unbelievers. It’s pretty clear on that point.

But those are almost all cases dealing with the perameters of freedom of the press rather than freedom of speech. Although there is much overlap between the two, the media cases generally are dealing with specific press issues such as prior restraint of publication, privilege of sources, etc. etc. On a pure freedome of speech case (such as we have here) the issue of whether one is a "journalist" is irrelevant. (as it generally is, and should be, in the press cases.)

You know your stuff - but here's a question:

If Bette Midler says Tea Partiers deserve having the IRS put on them - and I respond with, "Who cares what the old whore thinks about anything'... can I be sued by her? A newspaper can say just about anything about a person who holds themselves out to the public - but does that privilege extend to me?

If she can prove that you intended to communicate that she was actually a prostitute and you made the statement knowing it to be false or in reckless disregard of the truth or falsity she would have a case for defamation so long as she could prove she was damaged by the statement.

Since when does the government protect our sworn enemy who wants nothing more than to kill all Americans????? This lends creedence to the idea that America has been infiltrated by a foreign government and this invader is now in full battle mode using gorilla tactics against American citizens by a real life GORILLA using the name obama.

This is an erroneous characterization. Humanity is not predominantly terroristic. The intrinsic hostility and despotism of Islam is not embraced by every soul born into it.
