The Sheriff Arapio Haters came up short of recall signatures. This an AP story so by FR rules I can't say more than HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-

Excellent!
Under a fresh, new, right-wing Conservative administration Sheriff Joe would make a marvelous Attorney General.

His November re-election race marked the second-closest contest in his 20-year political career. He beat the closest candidate by 6 percentage points.Gotta love the propogandizing AP. Do you suppose they would ever mention that Barky won re-election by less than 4 percentage points over the closest candidate?

Group wont say how many signatures it lackedThe recall petition is a public record so the election board should have that figure. Can't the AP figure that one out??!!
FR - doing the work that the AP won't do.

I don’t think they turned in their signed petitions — they had not yet started being counted and verified.

We’ve seen the recall people at a couple different events trying to collect signatures. Mostly, they were ignored. We saw almost no one signing, so this news doesn’t surprise me at all.
I’m not a fan of Joe Arpaio, due to personal interactions we have had with Arpaio and his deputies. That’s part of why we no longer live in Maricopa County. However, I do agree with several of his stances on big issues and he was elected “fair and square”. I’m very happy the recall effort failed.

Don’t you have to be an attorney to be Attorney General?
Head of FBI might work.
