The Golden Age of Scouting was from the 1950’s into the mid 1960’s.

And proud to have been a member during this time. My 2 brothers made Eagle Scout, as did numerous Presidents.

Sadly, my family moved too often for me to get beyond 1st Class.

But, followers of Scripture KNOW that this time would come...

Yep...all my best pals were Scouts...we took it very seriously. Our troop Soutmaster and assistant Scoutmaster were old Navy Seabees. Our troop was a para-military outfit and we could march do drills and had unifor inspections at every meeting.

I was selected to be one of the 5 recruit petty officers when I was in Navy boot camp. After graduation I asked the Chief Boatswain’s Mate, company commander how he chose the recruit petty officers and he told me, “easy, I just go through the company records and pick former Boy Scouts. It always works” he said.

Not so sure that will continue.
