Congresswoman Michele Bachmann says she will not run for re-election in 2014, ending her tenure as the representative from Minnesota's sixth congressional district after four terms.
In a video released on her website early Wednesday , Bachmann says that, in her opinion, if presidents can only serve eight years that length of time is sufficient for her to serve in Congress.

Yes. This stinks. Even though she says this had nothing to do with Iowa hacks, I think it did.
Bachmann outspent her opponent 7 to 1 in the last election. Exactly how much money does she need?
I have a crazy theory that she only barely won re-election because she is not well liked, not because of some nefarious Rove plot.
Wow, just two months ago a lot people here was upset that she supported John Boehner for speaker... Talk about a lot of phonies..
I don’t believe she is well liked in her state. She is Conservative , her state is not.
It’s a good move on her part. Only the crazed beat their head against a wall.
She was right about so many things the rest hadn’t the balls to even speak about. Especially about Hillary’s Muslim girl friend.
Not to worry about her, though: she has her pension, her health-care, and her dacha by the lake. She won't suffer.
But we will.
So I am not crazy, the E-GOP does suck on ice, and it is time for a new party for us...
They could repeal it with a majority in the House and 51 in the Senate because of how it was passed, all that would have been needed was Romney to sign it's repeal.
Instead they will wait until they get in power, and put their spin on it, to re-invent it in their E-GOP image, rather that return liberty back to US.
Geldings the whole lot of them....
Who does not see that the same authority which can establish Christianity, in exclusion of all other religions, may establish with the same ease any particular sect of Christians, in exclusion of all other sects?
James Madison

“The aide, Peter Waldron...”
That’s what she gets for hiring a gay guy. Well, actually, I don’t know if he’s gay, but all of the Republican pollsters seem to be gay now, so it wouldn’t surprise me if he doesn’t have a wife and kids.
In an off-year election I suspect she would have won re-election in her district more easily than she did in 2012.
I alluded to that in a thread above this one. Yes... I think she will crush the fagot.

reid is embroiled in campaign scandal and corruption... his largest bundler is going to jail over it.

Well, this sucks. Michelle and Sarah now both on the outside.
But at least we have Murkowski!
I guess Wetterling or Graves will likely be our next 4th District Congresscritter.
Stupid move and I suspect ulterior motive. There aren’t any term limits in the Constitution for a reason. For a Federal Rep to step down is ludicrous. They exist to be the people’s tripwire and all this does is embolden the bureaucracy.
Franken’s approval numbers are solid and the Republican Party in MN is in complete dissary. I do not see him getting beat. He also has a huge war chest. Nobody of substance wants to run and Klobachar just won re-election by a huge number.
Agreed. You can only run from a district that supports you.
Redistricting did not help Bachmann and neither did the predictable campaign of slime from the Minneapolis Red Star and Sickle. A conservative can retain that seat.
Fat chance Americans will have to limit the terms of the congressrats to two two year terms.
As far as the Senate is concerned, the selection process needs to revert to senators being selected by their respective state legislatures for two four year terms.
