The little Storm in a Teacup I set off in the council meeting this last week has born fruit.
The Voting papers came through this morning on whether or not to extend the Parish boundary to include the new edge of town developments.

"'They' have decided at committee level not to do so!"
"Nice little communist dictatorship you've set up here, the rest of the town councils' and residents opinions on this matter are irrelevant are they!"
"This cosy little Unelected Politburo calling all the shots ,is it?"
"I suppose the Mayor will be making and passing bylaws from his Front room, without consulting this elected council, by next month then!"

The silence was Earth shattering, but appears to have done the trick.
For now.

Your Congress critters gave me the idea.
They are relying on an uninformed population now, to give an undecided vote.
But at least everyone will have had the chance to put their opinion forward to the Council so it can be either ‘Carried’ or ‘Refused’ using the will of the residents. For a change.
The new housing will be using the Town facilities so why shouldn’t the town collect the Tax money from them.
The Boundary change probably effects ‘someone’s’ home address, ‘snob factor’ has come into play here me thinks.

Shall dig further, this could be interesting, it may explain why we haven’t been able to stop these new development in the first place.
