The writer of this story is either high on hallucinogens or a lier. There was no problem with the bridge until an over-height truck barreled through striking the upper support structure. This could have been a brand new bridge and it would have collapsed from such an event. What makes me angrier is they spent all of the stimulus money saying it would go to infrastructure. Well, how much went to infrastructure? If they are asking for more money, I would guess that the money was squandered and did not go to infrastructure. Do we trust this present government for more of our money? I say hell no!

I can tell ya this.....If the meme becomes the “Collapsed bridge=Obama squandered stimulus” the MSM will do back-flips and the 1st investigative reporting they've done in yrs showing how the truck caused the collapse.....the issue is a lose-lose trap!...Be Careful

I’ll point this out....having looked at the database for stimulus projects for many hours. There was this one community which asked for around $30,000 for sidewalks. What they didn’t mention, and it was later discovered after giving the town the money....was that they were going to rip up sidewalks already in place, and just re-pour the concrete. Some guy’s cousin was going to get this contract, and probably pocket a couple thousand in profit.

I witnessed an example of “stimulus” spending at a Interstate rest stop in Louisiana. A large sign read : “Your stimulus at work”. We stopped at this already luxurious rest stop and found only two men working to create a patio out back. Meanwhile, when we went into the rest rooms, which is why people stop there, they were old, shopworn, and rusty. Maybe they just hadn’t gotten to work on them yet. The price tag for such makeshift work: over 1 million.
