Looks like a kid wrote that book, although it was apparently intended to look that way.

Cottonmouths certainly don’t mate for life; there are battles every breeding season to see who gets mating rights, between elder and younger males. Water snakes are frequently mistaken for cottonmouths; that’s true. Also, snakes prefer to catch fresh prey and are certainly anything but a “living garbage disposal”.

“The lakes have mostly thawed.”

But have the rivers broken up yet?

Is it time for breakup boots?

“Summer starts this weekend. You cannot have 3 feet of snow in New York and Ice Melting in the Arctic. The two are incompatible.”

Summer is still nearly a month away. I think that what has been happening for the past few years, and what has changed the leftists’ terminology from “global warming” to “climate shift”, is that while some places are getting warmer others are getting colder. While here in the NYC area we’ve seen milder winters, relatives tell me that NW Spain is much colder for the past few years than it has been in the past.

I love that area. My daughter was at a camp one summer at Paul Smith College..I had time to do a good bit of driving around there. Beautiful scenery. The lake at the Olympic Village (Crystal Lake?)still has lane lines! I’d love to go back up there and swim that. :-)

The planets atmosphere has not been warming for 16 years. That is a fact planetary wide and all honest climatologists agree with. And yes you can get pockets of warming along with pockets of cooling even if temperatures are holding steady.

The oceans have the most density and the most heat content. The long term atmosphere trend lags the ocean trend. We have a cold Pacific and a warm Atlantic. The Pacific is bigger then the Atlantic. Thus the net is cooling of the atmosphere which we are just now starting to see (ex-3 feet of snow on May 26th in New York). If the Atlantic turns cold then we are in big trouble.

You have to expect that at the end of May.

Yes, you do.

It’s been the coldest spring on record here in Virginia. Last night dropped into the 30s; that’s unheard of for this time of year, but it’s been happening regularly this season. However, summer is coming, and it will be near 90 by the end of the week.

Damn it.....

We took the kids to The Tyler Place on Lake Champlain right near the Canadian border. Those were absolutely wonderful one-week vacations.

I’ve noticed that any time the spring seems cooler the preceding fall was warmer/winter was milder. It is a shift, not a trend; at this point fewer and fewer people are using the phrase “global warming”, and it is more widely believed to be an outright hoax (probably due to the cooler temps so many can witness firsthand).
