Some irony in that statement.
Prior to the era where time came to a standstill, somewhere around 610 AD, the barbarians were in reality settled in Western Europe, not Persia. And also prior to the unequaled gear jam of that infamous 7th century, the Persians in many centuries prior were responsible for salvaging the great works of Alexandria — works ultimately to be recast as ... here we go... the ‘Great Works’ of sand dwellers. By the way, it was the Christians that dealt old Rome that harrowing blow. A lot of good stuff was lost, but such is the cost for a well deserved and “prolonged backlash”. The Christians later kicked the crap out of the conical Barbarians and civilized Western Europe diligently recording and brewing for the next thousand years.
