as of last week the country again exceeded the “debt limit” and yet again, much more quietly this time, the obama crony treasury secretary is using his power to raid (”borrow”) from the $350 Billion pension fund of Government employees, a fund raid which "tptb" expect to keep this govt rolling for another 2-3 months

some of us have been putting our savings in this TSP account for decades to prepare for retirement

in the past these raided savings have been replaced when the “debt ceiling” is raised

I am feeling very uneasy this time, given the low or nonexistent ethics of this WH and its appointees, fact of our national financial distress and the need for Congress to take a stand and resist this blackmail

this situation is one to watch in regards to the rumored desire of govt to seize private 401K and retirement accounts if obama doesn't get another round of tax hikes to fund his insane spending

I know govt employees are not supported on this forum, but on the overt govt seizure of private savings accounts, we may be the canaries in the coal mine

Get out! Get out! Get out!

No institution will be a safe place to stash your cash when the Feds come looking for money to cover national debts.

Empty your bank accounts. Hold cash. If you have a TSP or 401K or IRA cash them out. If you can’t cash out, stop contributing to your pension, stop adding to it - it is only going to be gobbled-up by government.

There is no institution that will function as a ‘safe harbor’ for your money.
