I've been out of the loop last few days, but this is the first time that I have seen in print that a Special Operations team flew in that night from Tripoli. My understanding was that Woods and Doherty (X Seals) were already there. My assumption is that they were attached to the CIA facility from the beginning. Did I miss something?
I believe this was known. My memory is that it was a small team, maybe two men?
That is what I recall from some thread very early in the large number of threads on Benghazi.

There was flight from Tripoli to Benghazi. It was comprised of Americans and Libyan forces apparently.
Since day 2 there are recorded statements that one of the Americans FROM TRIPOLI was killed.
“Of the eight American troops who had come from Tripoli, one was killed and two were wounded, Capt. Obeidi said. A Libyan deputy interior minister said a second American was also killed in the attack on the safe house.”
Repeat...
“...one was killed....a second was also killed...the safe house.”
Obviously the ‘safe house’ is the CIA annex.
Note the date on this next one - 9/12...the next day...

This sounds like Woods and Doherty CAME FROM TRIPOLI. That is different than later accounts.
This was not a ‘Special Ops’ team. It was ‘special team of Libyans formed from civilians less than year earlier!
The US Special Ops team was told to STAND DOWN!

Look at the honest report from Reuters in that 9/12 report.
‘American officials noted it was a complex ATTACK.’
So Reuters recorded that officials said ‘complex ATTACK’ less than 24 hours after the event. Hmmmm....
Note that the indicate the injuries - ‘at least a dozen’. How bad? Life threatening? Etc, etc.
The early reports got key parts right!
