The Mormons have historically been able to maintain autonomy when it comes to summer camp operations as well as stake based activities.

They imagine they can continue to do so in the future. However, the loss of volunteers in the non-Mormon 70% of the organization will eventually give the entirity of the residual organization a Mormon flavor. I'd suppose that will give them total access to the 1/2 billion dollar asset base. No doubt they will like that.

I'd like it a lot, too, if it meant keeping those assets away from monstrously evil spawn like Lambda Legal, GLAAD, and PFLAG. Think Kevin Jennings and Evan Wolfson and an army of leather- and mud-men, armed with half-a-billion dollars.
