Reconciliation is a legislative process of the United States Senate intended to allow consideration of a budget bill with debate limited to twenty hours under Senate rules. Reconciliation also exists in the United States House of Representatives, but because the House regularly passes rules that constrain debate and amendment, the process has had a less significant impact on that body.
I believe you are talking about a bill going to conference. Boehner has said the Senate immigration bill will be DOA in the House. So I don't understand how the House immigration bill(s) will go to conference. The House has indicated that will not be doing comprehensive immigration reform in one big bill.
Good catch!
The House has indicated that will not be doing comprehensive immigration reform in one big bill.
So what do you think they will do? 4 smaller bills can be just as bad as one big one, and the Senate traitors could make bills to match each one, with the idea of making the end result more like their big bill.
