+1. Special prosecutors are where Democrat scandals go to die. This scandal would disappear totally, as no one in Congress or the media would be able to dig further (”interfere in an ongoing investigation”). And then, sometime after the 2016 elections, the special prosecutor would quietly release his findings, which would be a total whitewash, and then it would be too late to ever do anything more about it. Bad idea.
The last one (special prosecutor) resulted in an impeachment of a Democrat president. Doesn’t get much better than that. Time to bring Ken Starr out of retirement.
