As a general rule, if you allow enough immigrants from one region to enter at the same time, you are asking for Balkanization. If you take them little by little, you get assimilation.

True, and its because they were all brought in at once and kept separate, first by force, and then by their own choice. You get a critical mass of foreigners/different racial groups in all at once, and they don't want to assimilate.
