I don’t know all the potential players, but Gowdy is a sharp guy with some charisma and presence. As much criticism as Graham has received over the years, he still pushed for amnesty in 2006 and 2007, then survived re-election in 2010.
Graham obviously has some support as well as some intense opposition from others. It’ll take someone fairly impressive to beat him in the Republican primary of 2016 and Gowdy is in a position to become a real star over the next many months. He’s already becoming a star to many.
