That’ll buy a lot of chips (or razors) at the commissary. It'll also fund a lot of up and coming jihadis...in Boston, perhaps.

And so it must be, as unfair as that sounds. On the other hand, what would he be able to spend it on? He has been in confinement and is paralyzed from the waist down.

Hopefully, his assets can be seized and given to the victims’ families once he is found guilty and executed.

This is insanity. Had he been a Tea Party radical like the left thinks we all are, he would not have been paid and would have already been processed and executed.

Laws and rules can be changed.

Strong public outcry can modify the process (see Zimmerman).

How much was he paid from the time we knew he was trouble until the time he shot up Fort Hood?

His assets are probably being deposited in some Al Qaeda bank account.

Whether we like it or not, we are a nation of laws, and that implies legal process. This man is assuredly guilty, but since his case has not yet been officially adjudicated, as far as the law is concerned he isn’t legally a murderer.

I’m sure some of the children of his victims could use that money for college...But, what do you expect from an unrepentant terrorist. My BS filter is pretty full.

While outrageous, to suspend his pay would be a form of punishment and you cannot be punished twice for the same infraction. What they can do is when he is found guilty fine him the equivalent of his pay for the past 3 1/2 years.

How many murder trials are delayed for five years? There are some very inconvenient political realities about Major Hasan that would embarrass the new gay friendly Obama military.

Well, as unjust as it is in this case, it is appropriate to keep paying him until he’s found guilty.

How many murder trials are delayed for five years?

This is the real issue.

I understand the "innocent until proven guilty". But, I also remember something like "the right to a speedy trial".

Both the government and the defendant have been doing everything possible to delay this trial, because it's politically inconvenient.

The trial should have commenced within six months.

He should have been tried, found guilty, and hanged months ago.
