The Tri-State Tornado was an F5 that was on the ground for 3.5 hours and traveled 234 miles across Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana, which is the longest continual tornado path in the recorded history of the world. It killed at last 747 people and injured thousands, making it the deadliest in U.S. history by far.
