I’m 5’10” and 260lbs as of this AM.
Looking at their BMI charts, I’m moribundly obese.
An on again/off again gym-rat I could tie most doctors, not to mention politicians, in knots with my bare hands.
According to the governments numbers, in order to not be considered “dangerously fat”, I need to get down to 183. I could probably lose 20 lbs, but almost 80?
Maybe if they amputate both of my legs...
Remember, this is coming from the party who had the slogan that no one should come between you and your doctor.
I’m with you. I’m 6’3” and 274 lbs this morning. I bench press 495, ride a couple hundred miles per week on my bike and eat no carbs or wheat products. Yet, I’m morbidly obese according to the BMI charts. Go figure!?!?!
I read an article last week that indicated that waist / height ratio is a more effective gauge of proper weight than the dumb BMI. It indicated that your waist should be no more than 50% of you height. Makes sense to me, and is quite generous in the proportions - IMO.
