Today I immersed myself in a mountain stream, wrote part of two Mezuzot, on a calm, windless hillside looked at a storm over the Mediterranian many miles away, all white breakers amid slate-grey depths. At peace with the world, I walked back into Bat Ayin and quickly got a ride home so didn't have to pay bus fare. Now, for a cherry on top, I learn that Fatty al-Jazzar's dead together with 20 other terrorists, with dozens wounded. This has been a near-perfect day.

I understand that is not a typical day in Israel, but mountain streams, the Mediterranean... and your doing something that you love to do... It doesn't get any better than that! Lucky you, to be living in the land that the Lord has chosen for Himself!

Serendipitous indeed that one of Israel’s enemies is killed by another of Israel’s enemies.
However, I suspect your joy is somewhat tempered by the fact that Hizbullah’s loss is al-Qaeda’s gain — at least as I understand this “dance with the devil” in Syria.
