Psychology, literally translated from Greek, means the study of the soul. In its very definition, it is an impossible, subjective venture, and can never remotely be in the same room as the mathematics based sciences.

Being a study devoid of concrete foundations, it is subject to the winds that blow. And right now, things are blowing Politically Correct. That will change in time.

Psychiatry is a long time driver of politics, not a follower.

One of the leading progressive propagandists of the first half of the last century was Edward Bernays who not so coincidentally was a nephew of Sigmund Freud. I believe Freud also had other nephews working the progressive cause in those days as well.

Oppressive regimes have been using psychological manipulation for at least a century and we're seeing its resurgence today on the far left.

Personally I've discovered that a lifetime of experience is the best therapy there is. If I had continued to see a psychiatrist for my anger and depression issues of my youth, I would probably be an angry liberal today.
