I don’t fault Andrew Johnson for getting impeached. Johnson was impeached for violating the Tenure of Office Act, which required that a president get the Senate’s approval to remove presidential appointees. It was repealed, but if it hadn’t been, it very likely would have been found unconstitutional.

Actually, the fact that Nixon resigned so as not to get impeached indicts the two Democrats even more. At least Nixon had the love for the country and integrity to spare the country the indignity and turmoil of an impeachment. Clinton, for example, would have had to have been dragged from the White House screaming "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy!"
