I still am very disappointed that he held the door wide open to Barack Obama. I truly believe that GW is a good man, but I also think he was mistaken in trying to be a “me, too!” kinda leader. He should’ve held to conservative principles; instead, he gave way and ultimately helped the Dems regain enough power to shove catastrophic stuff down our throats.
Thank You Bushes for giving(inflicting) this nation BOTH the Clinton’s AND the Obamas.
I voted for Bush, I was a self-declared Bush-bot, but even then I was extremely disappointed in his unwillingness to defend himself on anything. That entire strategy is what derailed his presidency.
Do you think that Obama, if he’d proclaimed WMDs, would have been silent about the finds that were made, to include recipes, old weapons, and fingerprints suggesting the wmds had been moved?
No. He’d have been all over that defending himself. And the result would be that the public would at a minimum understand there were 2 sides to the story.
” He shouldve held to conservative principles” the BUSHES NEVER had ANY “conservative principles” to hold on to.
Still waiting for someone to thank Carter for giving us Reagan.
There is a major reason why we have Barak Obama as president, and it doesn’t get discussed much here because places like this website are very much to blame: Litmus tests are making it very difficult for any conservative to emerge from the primary scrum. So instead of nominiating an electable candidate who will take the fight directly to Obama, we have nominated two successive “nice guy” moderates who never polled above 25% in early voting.
I still believe Newt Gingrich would be president right now if he wasn’t destroyed by this website.
Saddam flew his fighters to Iran! Imagine that! I suppose it’s not likely he trucked his WMDs to Syria. Our troops found where they had been, but not where they were, hence, Bush lied?
Journalism is a respectable and nessesary field. Sadly, it died with H L Mencken, Samuel Clemens, and Will Rogers.
Didn’t GHWB41 reach the dizzying heights of 92% approval in the early stages of the first Gulf War?
” There is a major reason why we have Barak Obama as president, and it doesnt get discussed much here because places like this website are very much to blame:”
Uh, no.
I should rephrase that: It gets discussed around here all the time. Especically during the last two presidential elections when it was actually happening.
We had ended up with John McCain and Mitt Romney successively because the candidates spent six months attacking eachother’s conservative bona fides. And anyone who went off message for one sound bite lost 6 points overnight in an election that was one by a moderate who was polling in the 20’s.
” We had ended up with John McCain and Mitt Romney successively because the candidates spent six months attacking eachothers conservative bona fides.”
Ironic, seeing as neither of these bozos HAD any conservative credentials : )
A day after someone thanks Nixon and/or Ford for Carter.
Old man Bush (no new taxes) opened the door for the Clintons and GWB opened the door for Bam. George never vetoed anything and let the RATS crap all over him without him or his cohorts fighting back
How about we thank the Detroit Tigers for giving us the San Fransisco Giants, and put that useless meme to rest for good?
Obama, we have nominated two successive nice guy moderates
:)
Yep
Still love W!
If this were facebook, i would hit “like.”
