Obama administration sources explain Benghazi: Its actually closer to us being idiots

Sharyl Attkisson hinted last night on Twitter that she would have something interesting on Benghazi today. The CBS reporter didnt disappoint. Although its not exactly a blockbuster revelation, the change in tone in White House trial balloons in its defense of the Benghazi debacle is stunning:
Obama administration officials who were in key positions on Sept. 11, 2012 acknowledge that a range of mistakes were made the night of the attacks on the U.S. missions in Benghazi, and in messaging to Congress and the public in the aftermath.
The officials spoke to CBS News in a series of interviews and communications under the condition of anonymity so that they could be more frank in their assessments. They do not all agree on the list of mistakes and its important to note that they universally claim that any errors or missteps did not cost lives and reflect incompetence rather than malice or cover up. Nonetheless, in the eight months since the attacks, this is the most sweeping and detailed discussion by key players of what might have been done differently.
Were portrayed by Republicans as either being lying or idiots, said one Obama administration official who was part of the Benghazi response. Its actually closer to us being idiots.

Liars go to jail.
Idiots..get elected President. At worst they act embarrassed and claim “we'll do better next time!” Oops, I think they already tried that one. But, being an idiot does not get you jail.
Sorry if this is old news, but where exactly did the idea of the video causing this incident come from? I mean did Joe Biden come up with the idea saying “hey, I know what we can blame it on. I found this stupid film making fun of Muslims when I was searching for fetish porn.”
When everything broke loose, did somebody in the White house start surfing the net for any video they could find that would fit their agenda? Just don’t know how the video even became an excuse.
What a defense!
Great question!
The fact that Hillary specified the US gov’t had nothing to do with it seems to indicate that Nakoula was known or at least thought to be working for some US gov’t agency. That part of the story is far from over. Nakoula is scheduled to be released in August.
Its actually closer to us being idiots <<
No!....its actually closer to Accessory to murder!
This really is the most transparent administration ever. Just not the way they meant.
