Today I say do not write off Anthony Weiner.
Heres a fact about elections: they are competitive contests between candidates, each of whom brings certain baggage. Polls that ask questions about a single candidate, measuring negative or favorable response are useful, but the thing to always remember is that they fail to mirror the process of choice voters make.
Thats why it would be foolish to dismiss the idea of Anthony Weiner presenting himself to the voters in the Democratic primary. That he comes with baggage is incontrovertible. That he is as right as rain on any number of key issues is true as well. He may well, moreover, be the most moderate of the Democratic contenders, and there are those of us who miss the day when there was someone standing on this line.
Certainly we can ill afford to leave the field as is. Mr. Weiners creative energy and firm grasp of the details of city government should outweigh the personal problems, even if he has brought them upon himself. He deserves to be considered seriously by Democrats. His quirky personality, tempered a bit by the public relations inferno from which he recently emerged, is reminiscent of some of New Yorks great mayors.
One thing is certain about Anthony Weiner. He has energy.
This is why I encourage him to enter the race. Once he is participating in the debates, his knowledge and policy prowess would change this contest for the better. Unencumbered by ties to the traditional power brokers of the irrational left and labor union demands, he stand apart from the current field, free to say what he thinks, which I believe more closely mirrors the concerns of New Yorkers than any of the other candidates.

The Moslem Brotherhood and Huma NEED him in position.
.... he has a firm grasp...
The jokes just write themselves.
"..yark"
Right on.
He is a Democrat, married to Hillary’s girlfriend , running in new York.
I would say the guy is a shoo-in.
I’d like to see him run. And win. He is a truly terrible politician with the worst tin ear I’ve ever seen, and he won’t get diddly done as an executive.
He represents every value the DNC has.
He may even have three women chained in a basement somewhere in Cleavland.
just when I thought my estimation of NY voters couldn’t be lower...
New York is apparently looking to replace a big D**k with a little Wiener.
It was predictable. leftists have no shame. They do whatever is expedient for the moment.
the Big Apple morphs into the Little Prick
Just what New York politics needs...another Weiner..
I’ll have whatever the author is drinking.
Or smoking.
Or mainlining.
My favorite headline from last time:
“Harry Reid Hangs Weiner Out To Dry”
He can “team up” with Holder who is soon to be out of a job.
WEINER/HOLDER, FOR A “NEW” NEW YUCK!
If New York City wants that wiener and his brand of energy, grab ahold of him. We dealt here in LA with the cocktail weenie Villagairosa for eight years.
