As far as the Media Shield law is concerned, Obama had complete control over Congress from 2009-2011 and killed any media shield law, which was first proposed in 2007 by Schumer. When Schumer proposed it again in 2009, it was quietly killed by Obama before it ever got to committee or the floor of the Senate. In 2007 Obama supported such a law, but once in the WH killed it.
