While this is not easy to do successfully, the GOP’s mistake last year (Romney esp) was not emphasizing how illegals amnesty hurts Americans who are legal immigrants, not just us rich old white people.
Rich old white people get "cheap labor". Trust me, I grew up in the Upper East Side and the Hamptons. Who do you think does their cleaning and gardening? Teh rich pay some extra taxes, but frankly higher accountants and lawyers to minimize their tax hit. It is the middle class, the working poor, and those who can't get jobs, who are screwed.

Yes, I fully understand that too.
I was making a reference to the GOPs (establishment wing like Romney) near exclusive apparent campaign to get rich white people to vote for him, in a flippant way (I saw it would be a disaster at the time).

In fact Romney won the primary by taking the hardest stand on illegal immigration, but he strikes me as the most likely candidate to get in office then insist we need those ‘immigrants’ working legally to help businesses.
