(snip) Speaker of the House John Boehner (R OH) stated at the weekly GOP leaders press conference that Americans needed accountability from their government.
However, some Democrats are doubling down on the issue. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D NV) told reporters on Tuesday that some conservative organizations, like Karl Roves Crossroads GPS, deserve to be scrutinized.

Congressman Alan Grayson (D FL) told Breitbart News he thinks the Koch brothers have abused the system by setting up 501c3s that are doing political activity, arguing, It doesnt make any sense to look for something on the other side, because its not there, he said, adding, You just cant find something thats similar to what the Koch brothers and other right-wingers have done, so in that sense, its not shocking to me that the IRS did what it did. You have to look for things where they are to be found.

Sheila Jackson lee (D - TX) told Breitbart News, "I think we dont get anywhere in focusing in on what I call worker bees who thought they might be doing the right thing overwhelmed with interpreting Citizens United. .....

Speaking of Whorehouse Harry, I am confused.
He is obviously not male.
And he is obviously not female.
Wazzup with this queer piece of excrement?
(No offense to gays...they are gay...but Whorehouse Harry is just plain queer.)
[Teaching the Constitution] == [Political Activity]
[Advocating Open Borders] != [Political Activity]
Huge difference between enforcing laws on existing non-profit violations than stopping new ones from forming because its assumed they will break laws because they are conservatives.
where is the GOP calling out all the soros funded operations?? are these people stupid?? media matter receives tax exempt status!!!!
You could have predicted this would happen. The Democrats are going to go out there crying, “The Republicans did it too” loud enough and long enough so that they can hopefully muddy the water and get the majority of people so disgusted with both sides that they just throw their hands up and tune it out.
The left feels that their agenda is what is. Anything that isn’t furthering their agenda is illegitimate and thus, illegal. Citizens United was counter to their agenda, hence any and every action to obviate that decision is justified.
The logical conclusion is chilling. We live under a soft tyranny that is getting more hardcore everyday. No wonder they want to disarm us.
Alan Grayson obviously does not know who Soros is. (Idiot commie!)
Anything that spews out of the sewer traps of Grayson and Jackson Lee should be promptly ignored.
How about John Podesta’s Center for American Progress and its band of commies who helped Hussein get into the White House??
We shouldn’t be surprised, this is what Crime Families do. They go to the mattresses and start wacking their rivals. There is no need to pretend that they are acting in the public’s best interests - they are flexing their power and they want everyone to see them doing it. That’s how intimidation works.
I am so angry I am breathing fire right now. Are we close to the tipping point (citizen uprising) yet? Pitchforks need sharpening. (Why should I care, I am sure I'm already on the Big Sis' list.)
Koch brothers have abused the system by setting up 501c3s that are doing political activity,
Soros......
And Soros Spent FAR more money than the Koch Bros.
And how is that any different than what has been done by Soros, Planned Parenthood, labor unions, etc.
I think an excellent case can be made that a lot of existing 501c3s are political in nature, and that the laws against their doing political work while retaining tax-exempt status should be better enforced.
A whole bunch of non-profits, notably ACLU, Planned Parenthood, AARP, Media Matters and Move-On are very obviously political in nature.
I don’t know how such a distinction can be drawn with exactitude, but it shouldn’t of course be drawn by the ideology being promoted.
Hence the use of such language is purely for politics and for raising their own money.
