The scandal involving IRS discrimination against conservative groups is growing. In one case LifeNews has profiled, a pro-life group was told it had to promote abortion.
Now, the Thomas More Society is speaking out about blatant bias by the supposedly apolitical tax-collection agency. The pro-life legal group informed LifeNews today that cases it handled support mounting accusations that demonstrate the agencys abuse of pro-life organizations, in addition to those identified as tea party, patriot, or government spending groups.
Outrage spurred by recent revelations of IRS discrimination against these groups has also led the Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus to announce a full investigation into the matter.
According to TMS, in one case, the IRS withheld approval of an application for tax exempt status for Coalition for Life of Iowa.
In a phone call to Coalition for Life of Iowa leaders on June 6, 2009, the IRS agent Ms. Richards told the group to send a letter to the IRS with the entire boards signatures stating that, under perjury of the law, they do not picket/protest or organize groups to picket or protest outside of Planned Parenthood. Once the IRS received this letter, their application would be approved.
After a series of letters following a request for more invasive information, Thomas More Society special counsel Sally Wagenmaker sent a letter to the IRS demanding the tax exempt status be issued immediately.
Wagenmaker summarized her concerns about what she called the IRSs disturbing ability to stall and suppress legitimate applicants. She explained how through lengthy questionnaires and wrong citations of applicable law (as in the case of Coalition for Life of Iowa), applicants with less fortitude or without access to legal advocates like the Thomas More Society will be effectively silenced from exercising their constitutional freedoms.
Wagenmaker added, The IRSs role should only be to determine whether organizations fit the section 501(c)(3) test for charitable, religious, or educational qualification, not to inquire about the content of prayers, protests, and petitions. Its high time that the IRS be called to account for its workers potential to trample on our constitutional rights, through such ostensibly innocuous means what the Ways and Means committee will discuss may only be the tip of the iceberg of IRS abuses.
In another similar case, the IRS withheld approval of an application for charitable tax-exempt recognition of Christian Voices for Life, questioning the groups involvement with 40 Days for Life and Life Chain events. The Fort Bend County, Texas, organization was subjected to repeated and lengthy unconstitutional requests for information about the viewpoint and content of its educational communications, volunteer prayer vigils, and other protected activities.
The application of Christian Voices for Life clearly indicated that the organization qualified as a charitable organization under section 501(c)(3), stated Sally Wagenmaker. She added, The IRS seemed to be intent on denying or delaying tax-exempt status based upon the organizations pro-life message, rather than any legitimate exemption concern, through its exhaustive, cumbersome questioning. The implication that Christian Voices for Life somehow intended to engage in illegal activity was insulting.

You can bet that this is going to get red hot as there are many Tea Party Republican members elected in 2010 and 2012 that know there was voter suppression now because of the IRS issues with the Tea Party groups. Rush is just talking about it. This will be a BIG BIG storm in Washington.
Obama’s IRS basically shut the tea party and conservatives out of the 2012 election and out of politics.
The tea party grew and in the 2010 election the tea party won a great victory
So Obamas IRS shut down or prevented many tea party groups from starting . This is why the 2012 election favored democrats and why Obama won.
Obamas IRS intimidated many conservatives form taking part in the political process and from raising money for causes they believed in
basically the IRS shut down the tea party to rig the election for democrats in 2012 and for Obama
there would have been a lot more conservatives elected to congress if the tea party groups were allowed to raise money. additionally maybe a conservative would have been nominated for the GOP (as tea party groups couldn’t raise money for a conservative in the primary)
so the election is invalid , Obama must be impeached and the IRS must be abolished not given more power with obamacare.
I’ve said it before, Americans.
Destroy the IRS, along with most of the evil, duplicitous central government agencies.
Fire everyone.
Board up the buildings after ripping out the phones and routers. Tax EVERYONE 8.5% and eliminate the corporate tax and any other tax imposed by the federales.
Then, go to work on the state and local level. Here in Melbourne, Florida the city has taken over land that was intended for condominiums in the downtown section. This was due to the fact that the economy tanked.
The city idiots built a huge building with an adjacent tiered parking garage. The cost for a small town was enormous.
Get on your local government asses and demand that they institute economies and fire all redundant employees. That may bring the total of check recipients down to about 15%.
Government has become our enemy!
I cannot wait to the time when we have to apply to the IRS to get a doctor appointment.
IRS: Mr. Raycpa, it says here that you once contributed to Freerepublic and that you were seen attending a March For Justice rally in DC. Can we get a list of everyone that attended that 1988 rally Mr Raycpa?
Raycpa: Look, I just need a physical before I can take this new job.
You’re right about election invalidation. By the IRS own admission, ground zero for this operation was the Cincinnati Office. That office just happens to oversee the states of Ohio, Virginia, Florida, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina, among several others. Does anything about that list strike you? That list contains essentially every key swing state in the 2012 election.
This harass/delay operation was a deliberate strategy to prevent Tea Party groups from organizing, fundraising, and developing GOTV efforts in those key swing states in time to affect the 2012 general election.
Pray you never need a kidney transplant:
IRS: Mr. Raycpa, where do you plan to take that kidney? Will it be brought to “conservative rallies?”
Raycpa: It will go wherever I go.
IRS: Please indicate any and all places you plan to go with that kidney, who will be present, their political philosophy and the purpose of the meeting. We will give you 6 years to answer that and a few other questions we have for you (see the attached 30 page addendum of question).
Doh, the possibilities for abuse are mind boggling!
That does it! I’ve given up on filing for NP status for my new organization, “Tea Partiers for Life, Liberty, and Love of the Constitution”.
Raycpa: I’m eligible to be exempt for the 6 year rule that normally applies to conservatives. Just like the instructions on Form 890 Need-a-Kidney say, I have proof I voted for Obama over ten times in the 2016 election.
From the IRS:
We apologize for any inconvenience we have caused and will promptly schedule your transplant for next week. If you want anesthetic, please vote twice more for Obama and submit suitable proof.
PS from the IRS:
We have located a suitable conservative donor and foresee no delays. Have a nice day!
No surprise here.
There’s another interesting element as well. I noticed it in a few articles over the last several days but it really solidified with the article about Billy Graham Ministries being targeted.
A number of the Conservative organizations targeted have said the were after public expressions of support for traditional marriage.
Make me wonder if there’s a “gay mafia” within the IRS that was targeting enemies of their agenda.
I’d start looking at the names of the IRS officials involved (as they come out) and crossreference against homosexual activism and organizational membership.
“IRS: Please indicate any and all places you plan to go with that kidney, who will be present, their political philosophy and the purpose of the meeting. “
Hilarious!!

More like.......I need this chemotherapy urgently....
IRS....Well send us the list......and remember...we have a good supply of red pills.
and don't ask for a cast for a broken arm if you have been smoking...
