FWIW, I found myself the subject of an audit after giving money to certain pro-Israel causes last year. They were VERY interested in those donations and demanded things over-and-above what they were allowed by law.
I finally filed a suit in tax court to make them go away.

Anyone who has a nose for truth has known this was going on for many years, I wouldn’t try to guess just how far back but probably at least back to the sixties. It is just now being exposed to the light. I really cannot imagine how any adult over thirty could be surprised.

yes. Funny how I didn’t hear about it during the Bush years. There is an article now about few cases, but they don’t seem egregious to me- cases of active campaigning in a church or two that was looked at. What happened under Obama is as blatantly corrupt as it can be. Clinton did it too.
