I have found it is difficult for some Black and other people to admit, much less give gratitude, to the fact that during the Civil War 330,000 White Union military KNOWINGLY fought and died in pursuit of their government directives to free the slaves. The 330,000 equated to one free White’s death for every Black slave freed in the Confederate states.
Doubt that it will be mentioned by Whites or Blacks this Memorial Day. Screw up the “YOU OWE ME!!” theme.
My favorite is the ‘dialog on race’ bs.
The word ‘dialog’ normally implies a two-way conversation but not when used with the word ‘race.’
‘Dialog on race’ means ‘let’s list all the various reasons we think white people should be ashamed of themselves.’
