I had to comment on the pic...
I have two cats, although I'm a dog person. The First lady was the one to first feed them. I counseled against it.
One of the cats had a large gash in his tail. Looked like a wound inflicted by a human. Shaved the area (that was a trip), cleaned the wound with H2O2, anti-biotic, and suture bandages.
Here is the part of the story you won't like...
I grabbed the cat, took off in the Jeep, and deposited him (Tiger) about 5 miles away in another neighborhood.
The next day he shows up on my lanai. It was Christmas 2006.
What was I going to say? Oh, now that we have two cats (male short hair domestic, and a calico female), they "whap" each other when surprise is in their favor. Then the one that gets "whapped" comes over to the humans for sympathy.
I miss my Jake (my English Springer who died Oct 2007).
