To the delight and surprise of about 40,000 participants in Romes Marcia per la Vita (March for Life) Internazionale in Rome on Sunday, Pope Francis left the Apostolic Palace to join them in the popemobile as they gathered in the street.
In an interview with LifeSiteNews, Msgr. Ignacio Barreiro, head of the Rome office of Human Life international, said that it was highly unusual for the pope to have effectively joined the March for Life with the other participants.
Though, in his short papacy, Pope Francis has developed a reputation for a fair amount of spontaneity, it appears the Vatican may have prepared ahead of time for the pontiff to join the March for Life event. According to Barreiro, while no specific mention was made of the popes plan to join the marchers, crowd control barriers had been set up to guide the popemobile out of St. Peters Square, across the adjacent piazza, and down the Via della Conciliazione that leads to the Basilica.
Pope Francis also welcomed marchers at his usual weekly Regina Coeli address, taking a moment to openly endorse the European-wide pro-life petition against embryonic research. The One of Us campaign seeks one million signatures so that the European Parliament is then required to schedule a debate on the issue.
I invite you to keep the attention of everyone on the important issue of respect for human life from the moment of conception, the pope told the March for Life participants....

I like this pope.
It’s not just spontaniety...it’s participation....
Great!
As Otis Redding said: got to, got to, got to....love this guy.
I do love this man. Just a little fantasy humor here, but how cool would it be to see him show up on an episode of Duck Dynasty with a camouflage mitre and a crozier made by Binelli, hunting ducks with the family?
OK, I will go now and no disrespect to His Holiness.
:-)
He has reintroduced the Devil as a real entity rather than just people doing bad things....
He participates in events with parishioners.....
This guy is awesome!!! No excuse guy.... More black or white on issues......no fuzziness....Very clear direction....

Exactly!!! You nailed it perfectly.
Pope Francis is very encouraging. He’s a breath of fresh
air. He’s proving that good will defeat evil.

No mushy, touchy, feely, PC nonsense.
I close my eyes and see the libturd-in-name-only-catholics rolling their lying eyes.
You forgot that he checks out of his own hotel room AND calls to cancel his own newspaper subscription!!
Leading by example...what a novel concept.....
I’m sure Pope Emeritus Benedict would have liked to have a more public display but he was so frail when he took office, it isolated him more....
