(CNSNews.com) - The House Ways and Means Committee wants to know when the White House first knew that the Internal Revenue Service was targeting groups for heightened scrutiny for their political views, including groups that used the words "tea party" or "patriot" in their applications for tax exempt status, or that sought to educate people about the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights.
The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration has provided a timeline to congressional staff that indicates that in the 2010 election year the Internal Revenue Service instructed officials in its "Determinations Unit" to "be on the lookout for" organizations applying for tax exempt status that used the words "tea party" or "patriot" in their applications.

1. Have there been AUDITS based on political affiliation? (Political party affiliation, as I understand it, is often public info).
2. And, as a follow-up...Have fines, penalties, and other enforcement procedures been absolutely fairly distributed among members of both major political parties?

when did the white hut know?
about 10 minutes before the IRS
As I posted on another thread... don’t think about gun control either.
When they ordered the IRS to do so, of course.
When they told them to do it?
Impeachment File on B. Hussein Obama, aka Barry Soetoro, a legal citizen of Indonesia.
When did the WH know, oh gee maybe around 2009 when Obama ordered it.
Nobody seems to care. This is an enemies list, this should be an impeachment level scandal.
The IRS would not have done these things without direction or at least “suggestion” from the political leadership.
Ordinarily this story would be poison for any normal Constitution supporting government. But I’m sure the Obomunists in power who know for certain this isn’t going anywhere are gleefully wringing their hands in joy knowing that they can intimidate the opposition.
Why they can’t wait for this story to die off so they can appoint even more political operatives to the IRS now that they have the bullet proof cover story that ... “investigation revealed there’s nothing to the IRS targeting the political opposition”.
For years the IRS has done nothing to the politically active Black churches that openly defy their tax free status.
The irs is the most feared of all government agencies. It has the power to destroy without due process. It considers you guilty without proof.
Its rules are deliberately confusing, so as to trap the maximum number of people in its net - then it can let go of some as political favors and harass others as political payback.
Wait until the IRS becomes the gatekeeper for access to medical care. Isn’t that a grand idea!

Is he outraged - is he even annoyed - that a Department of his administration has violated the rights of the people?
Q: When Did WH Know IRS Targeted Groups Based on Political Philosophy?
A: When they gave the order to do so.
Did I hear that Obama is making a statement at 11:15.
All I can do at this point is shake my head and laugh...
“Whatever you do, don’t think about Benghazi.”
I would not worry about that. Benghazi is a scandal that will work itself out over the coming months. Some people who are LIV’s will eventually catch on and it will effect a reasonable amount of them in the right direction. I expect that ultimately it will cripple the current administration. Impeachment is possible, but unlikely. But it is fully worthy to pursue this investigation.
The IRS thing is also unlikely to bring down Obama because it is unlikely that it can ever be traced back to him. Nevertheless, this is a very, very personal pocketbook issue for millions of Americans, including democrats and so-called independents. Virtually everyone has a latent fear of the IRS. Is there anyone who would laugh off a letter from the IRS saying that they were being audited? I would be willing to bet that even ninety year old Massachusetts ladies who have voted democrat all their lives and have an “I love FDR” tatoo on their butt would fear an IRS audit.
There are a couple of important things that we need to do. First, we need to broaden this out to let everyone who has a strong political view know that they could be next. The IRS has seriously undermined their own credibility, and we need to nudge them when they are off balance. The ultimate goal should be virtual elimination of the IRS through abolishing the income tax or making it ultra flat. In the meantime this scandal can help us get the word out that the IRS is not to be trusted. You don’t have to be a tea party type to get behind reigning in this government department.
Second, we need to use this to reinvigorate the Tea Party. I think this will almost certainly happen simply by the nature of the movement, but any way we can help here would be great.
Third, we need to tie this to Obamacare. There remains strong opposition from years ago, and there is growing anxiety because of the growing cost. Now we need to let people know that the same people who have purposely targeted some groups are the very same people who will enforce Obamacare compliance. That is a double whammy. The name of Obama need not be anywhere near any of this to help us in pushing back this tyranny.
