hat they don’t want anyone to see is that their incompetant constriction of an expansion of the Mosque has undermined the foundations and it could collapse at any time.

They hired some Egyptian civil engineers to try t shore up the foundations about 10 years ago to shore up the foundations and stabilize the structures but the work was only stop gap.

The structure is overdue for some structural failure by close to a decade. The repairs the Egyptians did must be deteriorating if Abbas is talking this way.

Then again, Abbas may just do a Reichstag Fire type event to stir the pot.

There are tunnels and chambers all under the Temple Mount, some that are known and some yet unknown. Of course there are Jewish artifacts down there, Temple instruments, and maybe even the Ark itself.
