Senator John McCain, who famously defended his then presidential opponent Barack Obama against an islamaphobic supporter during a 2008 campaign rally, defended President Obama once again on ABC’s This Week Sunday, cautioning his Republicans colleagues to cool it with talk of impeaching the President over the Benghazi attacks and its aftermath.
In response to Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) invoking the “I word,” McCain called for caution:
“With all due respect, I think this is a serious issue,” McCain told guest host Martha Raddatz. “I will even give the president the benefit of the doubt on some of these things. We need a select committee.”
On how much blame former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton deserves, McCain was much less generous:
“I think the Secretary of State has played a role in this…she had to have been in the loop in some way, but we don’t know for sure.”
McCain next turned his ire on the now official 2016 Republican attack-ad on Clinton’s “what difference does it make?” outburst during her Benghazi hearing....

McCain gave us Obammy in the first place, what with McCain refusing to question or attack his opponent (lack of experience, communist and islamicist AntiAmerican views, lack of constitutional qualification for the position, etc.)

I’ve been saying all along that he only talked tough about wanting an investigation so he could be out front to head off anything that might blow back on him.
I’m not in favor of impeaching the treasonous usurper. The simple fact is that the Democrats control the Senate, and they would not remove Obama under any circumstances because they are too racist to judge a person by the content of his character. Democrats cannot see past the color of Obama’s skin, and they see that racist loyalty as a tool to continue their monopoly on black votes, regardless of the damage inflicted to our country.
We need to focus on blocking any further damage to our country, repealing or defunding the existing damage, starting with ObamaCare, and preparing to retake the Senate in 2014. We can’t afford the distraction of an impeachment trial in a kangaroo court, not when there is zero chance of a positive result. We could have video of Obama admitting that he is a socialist who wants to spread other people’s wealth around as if everyone would benefit from destroying private property, admitting that he despises those of us who are religious and value the Second Amendment, admitting that he doesn’t even know how many states there are, and a thousand other un-American positions, and no one on the left would care.
