Personally I believe that Petraeus’s affair was held over his head and was told to “shut-up” or they (administration) would let it out. Unfortunately for Petraeus it did get out and he is no longer there. Why else did the DEPUTY Director of the CIA sign off on the edited talking points and not the Director himself?? Petraeus has stated that he did not authorize the final release but his deputy did?

The illusion the press isn't working for democrats is a lie... Getting bad new out when it doesn't damage elections IS how they work for dems before mid'term elections. And it allows the press to shore of their delusion that they're fair... "See, we went after Hillary (when her lies couldn't be contained - and early enough NOT to hurt her election chances..."
