My heart breaks for the family.........they have lost a daughter and a son.

It's the people, stupid!
So much evil in the world, such sad times. Family is supposed to be there for each other. I have three older brothers and they would to this day do anything to protect me. I cannot imagine that her brother savagely murdered her...
I think we are long past the time for revisiting the Laws about age and willful acts. The Law likes to pretend that 9-12 year olds cannot understand their actions in such serious matters. Clearly, this boy knew what he did, knew it was wring, was savvy enough to make up a story, and told the story to police and on camera. This is not some little lamb, incapable of understanding right and wrong.
I always thought that the brother of Jon Benet Ramsey, Burke Ramsey, killed her. The Ramsey family protected him.
IMO this was a similar case.
This was speculated the moment that it happened..that the brother was the only one to see this supposed intruder..and when you kill someone with a knife its often someone the victim knows since its so personal
I’ve had my doubt’s about the kid’s story from the beginning.
Sweet merciful Jesus, please save us from ourselves.
“And on the Tuesday night after the stabbing, the 12-year-old brother said, “I’m not saying goodbye to Leila. I’m saying ‘See you later.’ There are no goodbyes.”
Those poor parents. I think *this* is a parent’s worst nightmare ... that one child does something awful to the other.
I also wondered the first time I heard this story if the brother actually did it. I hate being proved right.
I wonder if she threatened to tell on him for something he did ... possibly to her. If he was cold-blooded enough to kill her, have an alibi thought out, and also utter those smarmy things about “not saying goodbye,” he may have been doing horrible things for a long, long time.
My first thought, upon hearing about this horrible murder was: the brother did it. But I figured that everyone would attack me for saying that so I kept quiet. But I was always quietly sure...
I said from day one to look at the brother... the whole story just seemed way too unlikely.
