I think if I were the Boston police department...I’d hire a smart kid to trace the cellphone trail for the boys over the past four years, and identify any murders within the time span of each movement. I suspect there’s more. They stayed busy, and probably doped up on something.

I would be trying to explain why this kid was not looked at far more seriously for the unsolved triple murder. I find the entire story very strange - throats slit (unusual - crime of anger), nothing taken (no robbery - it was personal - most normal suspects take the cash and drugs), and he did not attend funeral (allegedly) for a close friend (big red flag).

It is difficult to say “woulda, shoulda, and coulda” about the FBI and not point the same criticism towards Boston homicide investigators. It does not appear that the brother was ever considered as a suspect despite the connections, strange behavior, and failure to attend the funeral for the main victim (it was his apartment wasn’t it?).

3 men murdered like this is not a case that should be dropped. Basic homicide investigation 101 would dictate that friends of each of them would have been questioned at length and there have been a few interviewed who were never spoken too. If true, that one kid who knew them both who said he thought it was strange that Jihad Johnny did not attend the funeral or appear concerned would have raised red flags with me - especially if I found out Johnny killed in the preferred method of his religion.

Conjecture, speculation, and Monday-morning QB disease. I hate it and hate when I do it, but the facts we know afterwards really bother me in light of what I wrote above.
