I remember Plaza Garibaldi from 1961. It was a mariachi band place. My new bride and I walked up there, 4 or 5 blocks, from our hotel. We spent a little time in a bar there, paid for a song by a small mariachi combo. Finally we began to feel a little uneasy as the only gringos in the place, and walked back to the hotel.
I guess those days are gone forever.
