To: Flint
The US Navy has a new type of ship for providing support landings. It is small and very fast, but can support helicopters. [Really don't want to discuss some things on a thread like this -- because of who might be listening.]

However, the US Navy only has a couple of them at this time...

The one I am thinking of that would be handy are LHA/LHD type ships. We have a few of these.

They handle more than just helicopter aircraft...

A LHA and a LPD 100 miles off the coast could take care of business in short order if they were fully outfitted.
