The bill is called AB 880, amended by Assemblyman Jimmy Gomez (Tyrrany - Los Angeles). If this passes, there are only three options for business, survive if they can, leave California, or go out of business. And this makes it harder for the survival option.

Just do what all the other businesses are doing... Pack it up and leave.
California’s politicians are too stupid to even deserve any economy.

if the purpose of the action is to avoid the employer's obligations
Good luck proving that. No employer would be dumb enough to admit as much.

This is a job-killer for sure. libs should be proud.

Low tier public servants trying to run other people’s businesses now. Not very bright. I imagine Jimmy Gomez is one of those low information/not very bright people who can’t find a REAL job.

Now employers know, they have to cut back before this IDIOTIC BILL goes into effect.
Of course California isn’t constrained by ex post facto, and will try to make the law retroactive.....

Excellent. It should be called the Zero-Employment bill.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the CA legislature one day pass a bill that will not allow businesses to leave.

It shall be a crime to attempt to comply with the law, by taking an action that creates a legal exemption from the law.

There is actually a silver lining to this story:
Once idiot leftists finish ruining their communities, the last remaining sane states will DOMINATE the economy...assuming that they have the guts to rebel against them.
To: Vince Ferrer
This is an example of the political poison that’s given Californicate the highest unemployment rate (except only nevada). Plus 3 times its “share” of people on the dole. No sane business or investor puts money into Calif anymore (excepting computer programming and much of the growth in that is now overseas).

Well...who could have seen this coming. The next step is that employers will be forced to hire a certain number of workers.
I worked for a company that bought an Italian company in the 80’s. At the time (I don’t know what things are like now), the labor laws in Italy were so onerous that you essentially had to have several witness see an employee murder a co-worker in order to fire them immediately. So, this particular company had no “employees” other than the officers - everyone else worked as subcontractors as defined by their legal system! I wonder if such legal machinations are the next unintended consequences of Obamacare.

... if the purpose of the action is to avoid the employer's obligations under Article 7Then fire 'em because they voted for Obama ;)

Unless an employer says it was Obamacare how will CA govt prove it?
Dang, Democrats really do want to implement Cloward/Pivan.

Straight out of Atlas Shrugged. Not only must you obey the insane new laws, you must also not adjust your business to minimize the impact of those laws. You MUST take the maximum damage from their screwed-up ideas and “feel-good” foolishness.
