As CBS 2s Dave Carlin reported, Jack Pawlowski was led out of his Queens home in handcuffs Wednesday, with his stunned wife and three young kids looking on. He said nothing as detectives put him into a squad car.
. . .
Pawlowski told CBS 2 he took a toy gun, and two of his kids, around the corner to Ditmars Park. It was around noon and packed with kids and their parents.
. . .
Another mom who was on a playground at the park at the time said she walked up to Pawlowski, and told him to take the toy gun and his kids and leave.
I dont tend to take things lying down, so I went past the parents, and so I walked straight over and I confronted him, said Leni Calas. I mean, hes brandishing a firearm and I dont care if that firearm is plastic. Thats unacceptable.
. . .
He remained in custody Wednesday evening, on charges of reckless endangerment, endangering the welfare of a minor, resisting arrest, and possession of an illegal BB gun.

Of course, given the good folk around where I live, I'd likely need to stand in line to do it. And remove the gun from a part of the gentleman's anatomy, first. :-)
I still couldn't figure out if it was a 'BB gun' (dangerous, certainly), 'Airsoft pistol' (less so, but still something wiser to be careful with around small kids), or a 'toy' (I'd tell the liberal busybody to MYOB).
Between the poor reporting, and all of the hyperventilating, it's hard to get the facts straight. I can only say with certainty that WBill Jr. wouldn't be irresponsible with a BB gun, or that would be the last time he had it. Period.
Lots of luck finding the good lawyers. They are both very busy.
no. because I know what airsoft toys are.
Well here are Safety Rules from Airsoft. It seems he and his family violated those as well.

Basic safety instructions are ... always wear eye gear....always point in a safe direction...make sure everyone around you knows what you are doing... never use them in parks... know and obey local laws.
Not exactly, she's a "bored" housewife who has reinvented herself as the proprietress of blog "queensmamas.com", thereby setting herself up as the arbiter of morals for the borough of Queens.
Re Google:
Leni Calas was one bored Queens mama.
Her husband was at work, her daughter was in school and she was pregnant and alone in her Astoria home when inspiration hit.
Frustrated (no kidding there!) by the lack of online resources for Queens parents, Calas, 31, googled "how to blog." And in April 2009, www.queensmamas.com was born.
"It was a moment of pregnant desperation," said the life-long Queens resident. "I knew nothing about Web development or design."
The website, which features a colorful array of local parenting tips and a list of family friendly borough events, was recently revamped using money Calas won in a small business competition.
Gack! I can't get the thought out of my head...
In other news (check out the comments!) there is hope for Queens after all is said and done.

What’s with all of this “realistic” crap? There’s nothing “realistic” about either of those guns other than they are vaguely gun shaped...
Pretty soon pointing your finger and saying Bang, Bang will get you arrested.
You’re probably one of those limp wristed adolts who rides a bicycle with a helmet
