Moreover if I were six hours into what would be an eight hour firefight - I would be SURE that American forces were on their way. We owe our diplomats, and the men protecting them, at least that much - that when we know they are in trouble we send forces - to avenge them and secure the site even if we think it will be too late to save them.

What I don’t understand is why the committee did not follow the chain of orders that told the marines that were coming to help to stand down. Who told told the marines to stand down? I am assuming it came from a military officer. But who told that military officer? I do not understand why these whistleblowers were not asked who told them to stand down. And then follow that chain upward.

Obama, Clinton and Panetta (O,C,P) were not simply denying defensive military support to the Ambassador and the three others that died, but their in/action was in essence signing a death warrant against the other 30+ also, who, except through Dougherty and Woods' heroism (and that of others from among the 30+), had only a very low chance of surviving that attack.

Or did O,C,P, as is rumored, have some assurance from Ansar Al-sharia (part of the Al Qaeda-linked February 17th Martyrs Brigade, treasonously paid by Clinton's State Dept. to provide consulate security!) that our personnel would not be killed? Surely such could only have been a totally empty promise, as Americans' culture of honor and self-protection against Islamic terrorism still runs very deep, if not with the likes of O,C,P!
