A schoolgirl was told off by police for drawing a hopscotch grid on the pavement, according to her father.
Officers even warned the 10-year-old she might have committed criminal damage as she played the traditional game outside her house in Ramsgate, Kent.
The angry father has lodged a complaint with Kent Police about their heavy-handed behavior.
Authorities are now investigating the incident, and admit that the officers may have gone too far when they accused Lilly of committing a crime.

No hop scotch. Unless by memory since they can’t draw the playing surface.
No dodge ball.
No Cowboys and Indians.
Takes 1/2 hour or so to GET READY to ride a bicycle.
(even adults as they ‘have’ to get into their SPANDEX and helmets.
Of course with a good many of them 1/2 hour is hardly enough time to ‘wriggle one’s way into spandex - THAT FEAT in itself should bring about enough sweat to constitute a full workout).
Maybe the towns and localities can construct Hop Scotch fields, make designated areas like soccer field and baseball fields. (Better watch it, ‘THEY’ will think it a good idea).
Next will be no more Jump Rope...Double Dutch especially.
We know that jump rope (key word ROPE) will only lead to hangings and bondage.
I once read that MOST FEMALE DOMINATRIXES were excellent Jump Rope players in their forming years.
Then again, maybe the Scots and ‘Hollanders’ are complaining their ‘heritage’ is being abused and eventually tied to criminal activities.
Nope. Ain’t no convincing a mind made up.
Sheez, get a grip. You must be a blast at parties.
If someone came to your house and knocked on your door telling you to
stop your kid from vandalizing the sidewalk and making the street look like
a trash can, what would you do? You can spin it a hundred ways but it's still wrong.
What’s sad is people like you. You really are pathetic.
Seriously, quit starching your underwear. If you get bent out of shape about kids playing with chalk on the sidewalks - something that either disappears in the next rain or can be hosed off - you really need to re-examine your attitudes.
Nope, but folks like you are what allow the DU types to paint FReepers as senseless, out-of-touch sticks in the mud.
Well...it was a ticket for voiding, after all.
About 35 years ago a photographer snapped a pic of the Swedish prime minister relieving himself in public, against the fence. They asked him what he had to say about THAT!
He calmly replied that just because he was the prime minster of Sweden, it didn't mean he no longer could pee on the fence.
I agree, just read all the personal attacks against me for not following the Piper.
It's all my fault. /s
FU! And your reference.
Wouldn't asking for clarification before posting "FU!" have been a better path, big man?
One would think you might reconsider your position given how much derision you have received on this thread. So yeah, it is all your fault. For taking an absurd position and then whining when you are called out for such.
DUDE! The whole world is wrong, except for him!
I also note that post #44 was made so quickly that you would scarce have had time to look up the artist, you instantly recognized his work.
Is he a favorite of yours, perchance?
Driveby shootings and crack dealers can't possibly be far behind such rampant societal decay.
Dang man! Warn a guy when you post something like that!
I think this is a job for Mayor Bloomberg. Banning hopscotch.
Whats sad is your attempts to vilify a sweet little girl. I was merely pointing out the error of your ways without being insulting like other posters.
chalk is temporary
playing is good for children
seeing happy kids is good for adults
If seeing a little girl chalk a hopscotch pattern on her front walk merits law enforcement action in your book then you are the one with a problem.
