Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann spoke tonight at Maryland Right to Life's Third Annual Banquet just outside Baltimore and announced that a bill to repeal Obamacare will be introduced next week.
Bachmann stated that every Republican in the House is expected to support the bill. She started off her remarks by complimenting Baltimore on being the home of crab cakes, the Super Bowl champions (which drew cheers) and Nancy Pelosi (which drew jeers). She told the crowd "2 out of 3 isn't bad".
Her remarks mentioned the horrors revealed by the Gosnell trial and how the media wanted to pretend it was an "isolated incident" much in the way they try to make every Islamic terrorist bombing seem like an "isolated incident" but we know the truth.
She talked about the story in the Bible of the woman using expensive oil on Jesus and how some complained that it was a waste. She wanted the crowd to know that their time money and efforts to promote the Pro-life cause, even when hitting a wall of opposition, is never a waste. Ignore the critics and do what is right.
Bachmanns comments came after a short speech by Maryland's lone conservative congressman-Andy Harris. Harris, a doctor whose wife Cookie is very active in the Pro-life movement, also spoke about the Gosnell trial. Along with other Pro-life Republicans, Harris has been talking about the Gosnell trial on the floor of the House in an effort to get more media attention on the issue.
Nice! And next time some ahole on here starts bashing baby boomers, Im just going to say Michelle Bachmann...Sandra Fluke. Says it all.
Now that’s funny.
Please...the lady in your picture with MB?
So yes, you can say that Republicans allowed this crap to pass but at least allow that most Republicans tried to stop it.
Whoa! You misunderstand me. I'm not blaming the Republicans, at all. I was, in fact, defending them. I was responding to a poster who claimed that the Republican House should've passed a repeal vote years ago -- which, in fact, they did.
Except for Olympia Snowe's misguided vote for Obamacare in committee, I'm aware there wasn't a single GOP vote for the abomination.
And, yes, the House's repeal vote will die in the Senate -- because Harry Reid (and the Democrats) won't even bring it to a vote.
When you attempt to assassinate the king and fail, then you must retreat and show homage in order to survive. She was not the only one to knuckle under, Boehner already had her on his hit list for daring to attempt to defund ObamaCare.
Where I find fault with all the cowards who know that Boehner is in the tank on ObamaCare and refuse to publicly make a stand against the leadership[.
