Thats pretty much the world standard (except for western Europe socialist countries). Japan, China, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, etc etc,,,
Almost anywhere you immigrate to has a minimum standard that you not become a burden to society.

Really. We certainly can not go set up in Mexico! Even if they had a welfare system we would not be entitled. We can not get Medical help with out cash up front. Hell, they won’t even give you a permanent residency until you prove you make x amount, and don’t try to get a real job, unless you are specialized in something they need. They don’t want us taking a job one of their citizens could do. I think it is great. We should follow their laws!
