I would have to go back through the transcript but it seems to me that I heard Stevens was supposed to be out of Benghazi by 9/15. If that's the case it a curious coincidence that he was taken out only days if not hours before he was due to leave. I wonder who knew he was leaving? Of course I'm conspiratorial.
Good point. Stevens was going to go to Benghazi in October, but instead, he went on September 11 to evaluate whether to make Benghazi a permanent facility or not. They had to do it before September 30 so as not to lose the money.
I find this astonishing given the fact that the mission had been attacked twice along with the UK ambassador's convoy and the Red Cross. Why would we want to even consider making it a permanent facility given those circumstances?
