I was guessing that his victory margin must have been smaller than usual.

Sure enough: “Sanford’s 1st District, slightly reconfigured from the one he held for three terms in the 1990s, is strongly Republican and Mitt Romney took it by 18 points in last year’s presidential race.”

And that’s with a green party candidate presumably syphoning off some votes from the Democrat.

No, this guy is a real loser. But it’s still probably better having him win than having another Democrat elected, from a conservative district.

Mark is not a loser. He will represent well and be a big asset in congress. I have known him many years and I do not believe he will disappoint.

Someone called Hannity to complain that C-B was on the ballot twice. (apparently, she was the candidate of the Democrat and Working Families Parties.)

Exactly my thoughts. This man is a “winning loser”... In moral and human terms, a loser, as a candidate, a winner. I often wished I had a graphic to post of me pulling a voting lever with a clothes pin on my nose...with “Republican” written on it. The “alternative” to voting for this loser was a union cheering Democrat. I’m so tired of voting AGAINST someone instead of FOR someone. I didn’t vote “for” Sanford, I voted against the Democrat.
