Poll: Eastwood beats Obama on trust

Americans trust Clint Eastwood more than President Barack Obama.

That’s right, the iconic actor ranked No. 13 on Reader’s Digest “100 Most Trusted People in America” poll, released Tuesday. Fifty-six percent of Americans trust Eastwood, compared with the 45 percent who trust Obama. Obama ranked No. 65 on the list.

Eastwood stepped into the political spotlight last August when he spoke at the Republican National Convention in Tampa to an empty chair, pretending that Obama was sitting in it.

Other politicos on the list who each ranked above Obama: First lady Michelle Obama at No. 19; former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright at No. 23; former President Jimmy Carter at No. 24; former Secretary of State Colin Powell at No. 32; and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at No. 51.

Also of note: Judge Judy (full name: Judith Sheindlin) scored higher than all nine of the Supreme Court Justices and ranked No. 28.

The top five spots went to Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock, Denzel Washington, Meryl Streep and Maya Angelou, in that order.

Pollsters conducted an online survey with 1,009 people between Jan. 24 and Jan. 29 and the sampling mirrored national census data and pollsters didn’t release a margin of error. They asked people to rank each subject on a 5-point scale of trustworthiness, with a sixth point available if they didn’t have an opinion.

From the headline I thought “this sounds encouraging.” Then I read the article and found out that the top 5 most trustworthy people in this poll were:

1. Tom Hanks
2. Sandra Bullock
3. Denzel Washington
4. Meryl Streep
5. Maya Angelou

Now I’m guessing Clint Eastwood rated so highly only because he’s an actor. What a country.

Although it’s nice to see nobama get his ass whipped big time, we all know this poll is trash. Doesn’t signify a thing.

“1. Tom Hanks”

He’s a complete fraud.

Hell is feature films starring Tom Hanks, rock concerts featuring Bruce Springsteen, and life in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

The last one proves that they pulled this list out of who’s who of radical revolutionaries. Hell... I don’t trust any of them... including sandra.
