Pieris japonica (Japanese andromeda) are now in full bloom. These shrubs are native to Japan, great foundation plants, acid soil-loving, deer-resistant, is in the heath family (Ericaceae), with 18 known commercial cultivars/varieties available. Part-shade to full-shade. Panicle-flowers come in white, pink, red, red-red and lavender.

There are so many flower and leaf combinations, it's mind-boggling.
